DOG PHOTOGRAPHY
Photo Sessions
Firstly, if you are thinking of an exclusive photography shoot for your dog then it is best to also think about the end result. You will want to display the best of your images as stunning fine art and so it is important to think about what you want from the session.

To book email sales@countrylife.studio with your name, breed and age of dog, preferred location and date/s and I will get in touch to provide some pre-shoot information and to confirm arrangements as well as to discuss the type of artwork you are interested in.

Photo Sessions
All photo shoot sessions are private will be held outside. I want your dogs out in the natural world enjoying themselves. This will make them feel comfortable and more at ease which in turn creates the best images. As it says above, I am immensely keen on using the best light and so this usually means towards the end of the day and the hours before sunset, although early morning is not out of the question. I will endeavour to capture a wide variety of photos of your dog and of course involve you in the process too. The photo session should be relaxed and friendly.
Sessions can be held local to you, or within our 2 acre plot near St. Briavels which includes some woodland and more formal lawns in the lower Wye Valley. Ultimately you will have a unique collection of images and some beautiful artwork. The session is likely to be between 1 hour and 2 hours or so, dependent on the package bought. This time is spent getting comfortable with your dog, understanding their character and then having fun with them, making the best of the light.

I can also take family portraits if you would all like to be there with your dog or dogs.
Of course, if mother nature has different ideas and the weather is just downright gloomy or wet then we can rearrange another day for the photography, proceeding until you receive your purchased time for your dog photography. Cinematic and digital cameras do not like the wet and generally neither do humans nor dogs!

I will be in touch the day before the photography shoot to discuss the weather for the photo session day with you and we can either postpone or defer the decision to the morning of the shoot.

Post-Production Viewing
You should expect your images to be processed within a week and they will be available in a private area of this website, to which we will send a link. Having given you time to look through these we can arrange a meeting to then discuss how your preferred photos from the session may best be displayed.

Artwork
Displaying your images as statement artwork gives you the chance to experience and enjoy them every day. A good starting point in this process is deciding where in the house you might want to display your chosen photographs. The mood of the shot and the style of the house or room have as much in the say in the mounting of the artwork as does the space, in the sizing of the piece.
However, in the end it is a very personal matter of choice as to how you wish to exhibit your artwork. We are able to convert your chosen proofs into stunning wall art from framed prints on the highest quality archival art paper that will look as good as it does today, in many years time; to framed, stretched-canvases or images with exhibition quality backings.
Rest assured, commensurate with my photography, your fine art prints will be produced to the highest standards for you to enjoy their enduring qualities. You can read more about artwork here.
